This position paper was produced following an expert roundtable held in January 2022 on optimising the childhood immunisation schedule.

It outlines the key challenges that limit the strength of the UK’s response to vaccine-preventable childhood disease, how the UK should tackle these challenges, and highlights five distinct areas where progress could be made as the Department of Health and Social Care continues to develop its ‘new approach’ to vaccination.
